It was my first time in Dubai. I was told that I would be so amazed by the revolutionary development represented in the mountain-high skyscrapers, technologically advanced gas stations, the luxurious restaurants, clean streets, well-illustrated roads, diverse nationalities and well-educated people. Yet, I was not so surprised. It was something I anticipated. The city has the utopia-tic criteria that made it one of the most visited and most desired places in the world, for its economic weight and strategic location on the shores of the Gulf.

Oprah's Big Give

It is really surprising how media magnifies things, especially when an iconic TV figure is behind those actions. Oprah Winfrey's Big Give gained enormous popularity around America and here in the Middle East due to broadcasting the show on MBC 4. The idea is about giving money, which has to be a person's own money, to those who are in need in order to be paid back an even more amount of money!
Ironically this idea, which is thought to be new to the American public, is previously known here in our Islamic societies! It is also mentioned in our holy book, the Holy Qura'an! So the idea is not original and not so brand-new! It is what we refer to as "Zakat" -charity- in Islam.

Sweet November...

Looking through the window, just watching the rain drops, a feeling of nostalgia brushed my mind, reviving old memories from the ancient past! I missed playing and jumping under the gentle, soft rain drops falling from the silvery white clouds that occupied the dark velvet sky.
A rainy night that brought life, joy and blessings to everything in this universe!

First Blogging Anniversary!

One year has passed since this blog was created!
Time really flies!

A year ago this blog was named as "Thoughts Unedited"; for the writings I used to make did not go through editing process, which is untrue...

I always edit my writings, probably 10 times before submitting them! I am a big editing person!Especially on spelling and grammar whether in Arabic or in English! But not the thought itself! But I still edit! So thoughts unedited wasn't much of a suitable title for this blog.

Therefore, I picked up the name !Inspired" because it has a connection with my real name and real identity, and real thoughts as well!

"Inspired" sums it all!

هلّ شهر الخير

هل هلال شهر رمضان، جاء بكل الخير والروحانية...جاء بالرحمة والمغفرة والعتق من النار...جعلنا الله من صوامه وقوامه...وأعاده الله علينا سنين عديدة وأعواما مديدة... وكل عام والأمة الإسلامية بخير وسلام ورخاء....آمين

كنا سعداء

مازلت أتذكر تلك الأيام عندما كنا نقطن بيتنا العتيق، في الحارة القديمة، عندما كنت أعود من المدرسة وقت الظهيرة وتحت حرارة الشمس أتجه إلى منزلنا الذي طالما تمنيت أن أنتقل منه إلى مكان آخر أرقى وأفضل...
أتذكر عندما كنت ألهو في ركن ألعابي الصغير، تحت النافذة المفتوحة وأجري التجارب الفيزيائية الصغيرة مع المنشور المكسور، لتظهر لي ألوان قوس قزح مشعة في كل أرجاء الغرفة...
وأتذكر أيضا كم كنت أرقب القمر تحت النافذة إياها لأرى ما إذا كان مكتملا لأصعد بعدها إلى سطح المنزل ومعي منظاري الفلكي
الذي رصدت به القمر والزهرة والمشتري، ومذنب هيل بوب الذي بدا أعظم إنجاز لي!
ما زالت أتذكر أيضا اجتماعتنا الودية مع الأقارب وكيف كنا نلعب لساعات وساعات، ولا نشعر بمضي الوقت...
وأتذكر أصناف الطعام التي كانت تعدها أمي وكم كنا مستمتعين بكل ما تقدمه لنا من أطباق...
وتلك الأيام التي كنا نقرأ القصص القديمة المصورة والبوليسية، في ساعات متأخرة من الليل...
وممارستي لهواية الرسم التي كنت أعشقها وأبدع فيها...
وكيف كنا نستعد للعيد بملابسنا البسيطة، وأهازيجنا الشعبية العريقة...
وأتذكرأيضا عندما كنا نشتري الحلوى والسكاكر والمثلجات وكم كنا فرحين بها..
وأتذكر تلك الأوقات التي كنا ننتظر بشوق لمتابعة مسلسلنا الكرتوني المفضل، وكيف كنا نقلدهم في أصواتهم وشخصياتهم دونما اعتبار لمن حولنا أو ما حولنا...
وأتذكر تلك اللحظات التي كنا نمارس فيها كرة القدم وكرة السلة ونتخيل أنفسنا ونحن نحقق البطولات العالمية ،التي كنا على أمل في أن نحققها...
وأتذكر كيف كنا نصنع لبعضنا المقالب، ونتصيد الهفوات، وكم ضحكنا كثيرا على تلك المواقف...
لقد كانت أياما مليئة بالبهجة والسعادة والبراءة، وكانت خالية من الهموم والمنغصات، لم نكن نفكر بأي أي شيء آخر سوى اللعب والمرح وكيف سنقضي نهارنا في اللعب والمتعةـ وكيف سنمضي ليلنا في السهر والسمر حتى السحر!
لقد كانت أياما مختلفة عما هي عليه الحال الآن...
لقد كنا سعداء!

Lifeless Entity

Losing one's soul is probably the most difficult thing that can ever happen. It is not death as we know it; when your soul leaves your body. It is when you lose the liveliness and joy of existence. It is when the dark shadows steal the light of life.

What Are Friends For?

Until yesterday, I have thought that I had friends -well good friends to be precise. It was not about the material things like jewelry or cake or even helping me getting a task done. It was about remembering a special event they had forgot, and trying to make it up for me, though I did not ask them to or even blame them for it.

I just want to thank all of you guys for making my day!
